Another Original Character Meme-- Giving Love to Neglected Characters!

You must be sick of these by now, right? Well, suck it up. This time, I'm using characters that you haven't seen much of yet.

The Rules: Choose 12 of your original characters, in any particular order. Then, answer the questions that follow, but DON'T LOOK AT THE QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU PICK THE CHARACTERS!

1. Who would make a better college professor, 6 or 11?
That's a tough one. Velle is very smart, but incredibly anti-social and typically dislikes most people; Miri is certainly not dumb, but she's not really equipped to teach.

2. Do you think #2 is hot? How hot?
Delour is delicious! She has a very powerful, very sexual vibe surrounding her.

3. 12 sends 8 on a mission. What is it, and does it succeed?
Bosie might send Julien to acquire illegal materials to aid he and Velle in their assault. Julien can probably complete the task.

4. What is or would be 9's favorite book?
I wouldn't be surprised if Giana never learned to read.

5. Would it make more sense for 2 to swear fealty to 6, or the other way around?
Definitely the other way around; in fact, it's canon! 1, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8 all pledged loyalty to 2.

6. For whatever reason, 5 is looking for a roommate. Should 5 share a studio apartment with 9 or with 10?
I think Sviena would enjoy the company of both girls, really. She would most likely go with Giana, though, because Giana has a larger income and has no problem lending money to friends.

7. 2, 7, and 12 have dinner together. Where do they go, and what do they discuss?
Well, they're all stages of devotion, in a way. Delour, who is pretty cold and heartless, leads an entire group of outlaws in the stead of a fallen love; Adimieu becomes a wanted criminal for the sake of a stranger he feels sympathy for; Bosie engages in a massacre to prove his unwavering loyalty to his best friend and unrequited love interest. I guess you could also say that they've all committed great crimes. I don't know what they would talk about.

8. 3 challenges 10 to a duel. What happens?
I don't see why that would happen, but they're both strong competitors? I couldn't tell you who would win.

9. If 1 stole 8's most precious possession, how would 8 get it back?
Pity. Ilya would recognize that Julien is a kindred spirit.

10. Suggest a title for a story in which 7 and 12 both attain what they most desire.
Probably something cheesy like "The Price Paid" or whatever.

11. What kind of plot device would you use if you wanted 4 and 1 to work together?
I don't need a plot device; they do work together.

12. If 7 visited you for the weekend, how would you get along?
We'd get along for a time, I suppose. We would probably have passionate rants, then I would slip up and say something wrong and he'd stab me.

13. If you could command 3 to perform any one task or service for you, what would it be?
Let me film your nights with Carnaby! >:3

14. Does anyone on your friends list write or draw anything regarding 11?
Nope. His story is not up at this time.

15. If 2 had to choose sides between 4 and 5, which would it be?
Ehh, probably Sviena. They just have a closer relationship and get along a little better. Delour doesn't dislike Carnaby, but I can see him taking a childish approach to arguments. Plus, everyone knows that you always take sides with the person you want to bang.

16. What might 10 shout while charging into battle?
....Uh? No answer is available at this time.

17. If you chose a song to represent 8, which song would you choose?
Naturally, it would be Julien by Placebo. I couldn't think of a name for him until I heard this.

18. 1, 6, and 12 are having dim sum at a Chinese restaurant. There is only one scallion pancake left, and they all reach for it at the same time. Who gets to eat it?
Hmm... probably Ilya. Miri would smile and giggle and offer it up, and Bosie would lose the staring contest that would ensue.

19. What might be a good pick-up line for 2 to use on 10?
I dunno, Delour is just too damn slick for corny lines; she could say "These are new shoes, I want your cunt", and I'd still probably jump into her arms.

20. What would 5 most likely be arrested for?
Public nudity, sexual harassment.

21. What is 6's secret?
She's not the innocent and pitiful little charity case that Adimieu and Sviena perceive her as.

22. If 11 and 9 were racing to a destination, who would get there first?
Giana is a speed demon, but she would most likely be driving drunk. She will either get there first or never get there at all.

23. If you had to walk home through a bad neighborhood late at night, would you feel safer in the company of 7 or 8?
Adimieu.

24. 1 and 9 reluctantly team up to save the world from the threat posed by 4's sinister secret organization. 11 volunteers to help them, but it is later discovered that s/he is actually a spy for 4. Meanwhile, 4 has kidnapped 12 in an attempt to force their surrender. Following the wise advice of 5, they seek out 3, who gives them what they need to complete their quest. What title would you give this fic?

He is in a committed relationship with David Snare for over 3 years, but near the end of their time together, he begins to realize that their connection exists because he desperately clings to the ideal that he can save a man who is far beyond saving. He loves Snare very much, but the two do not last. He is currently dating August Lee-Munich, a man who originally seems even worse off than Snare, but is prepared to open his heart to Nyx (even if he refuses to do it in front of anyone else).

10. Any talents or abilities, even if these are included in your canon (i.e. they can fly, but they live with angels, so everyone can fly)?
Not exactly. Well, he is a talented Violinist, and hopes to someday make a career from this.

Nope.

He is Wiccan.

Oh, yes, Nyx is the most reworked character in the Verbrechen und Strafe series. He was originally pretty masculine, haha. Now he's the girliest character in the story.

No.

No one in particular.

High School grad, never attended college.

18. How much time do they spend in front of a mirror?
Too much.

19. If given a gun, what would they do?
Eye it warily, hide it, and occasionally look at it. He's not violent in any way, but it would be tempting for him.

Dresses. Big frilly dresses. He has something akin to a Gothic-Lolita style.

21. Describe their hair:
Very long, past his knees, deep purple, straight-across bangs, usually decorated with ribbons and such.

22. Where does this character live?
The fictional city of Allmaston, Michigan.

23. Can they cook?
He's not bad, but it's nothing really impressive.

Probably not, haha. He's not a fan of social gatherings.

Nope.

If he ever did, I'm sure he would.

He's not really shy, just a bit antisocial. He's not a people-person, if you know what I mean.

He can be a little of both, but he's generally pretty honest.

Loving to Snare, August, and after time, Mae. Distant to everyone else.

He's not too argumental, but his cold disposition and fierce expression usually wards people away.

Uh, great violinist?

No.

It's the only gender he's shagging!

He's really cruel and mistrusting toward just about everyone. He immediately distances himself from people who seem overly-optimistic and cheery, because he automatically assumes that they are trying to hurt or trick him. He finds most people to be disloyal and liars, and he loses friends because of this.

He smokes an orange glass hookah. [link]

44. Do they drink?
When the occasion calls for it.

45. Smoke?
Yes, from his hookah. He doesn't like cigarettes quite as much.

46. Do drugs?
Not often.

47. Are they addicted to anything?
No. He has too many addicts in his life. He felt that Snare was his first love, and after seeing what a fragile state his addiction left him in, Nyx promised that he would never allow himself to succumb. He wanted to continue caring for his damaged lover, and he had to be fully aware to do that.

48. What’s their impression on people at first glance?
He doesn't trust anyone upon his first meeting.

49. Is this true once they’re more well known to someone?
Generally speaking, yes. There are many members of the VS cast that he considers his friends, but he is not fully himself around them for fear of being mistreated.

50. Name something that’s different about them now than when you first came up with them.
His entire appearance, really. He also had a rather opposing personality to begin with, but now he is less outgoing and more defensive.

51. Is there anything about this character that’s surprising to you?
Well, I made him, so no. I am surprised at all of his transformations, I guess.

52. How was their childhood?
It wasn't the best, though his fears and turmoil stem from the present more than from the past.

53. What’s one of their weaknesses?
Though he tries to put up an apathetic and distant face, he is always afraid.

54. Their greatest strength?
He is unwavering in his convictions, and when he finds someone to care for, he is completely dedicated to helping them. He's a bit motherly.

55. Something they hate?
Bigotry, false promises, liars. Oh, and birds.

56. Something they love:
Both of his boyfriends, his violin, his dog Abigail.

57. How’s their self esteem?
Not great.

58. One thing they hate about themselves:
The nights when he does let himself feel overwhelmed. He views it as weakness.

He's never really been ashamed of who he is, though he thinks that life could be easier if he were 'normal'.

He's not too egocentric, but he does put on a show. He seems very full of himself at first glance.

Don't want to spoil anything. He was born in France, moved to America with his mother, currently shares an apartment with Elijah and Artemis. He encountered many people in his teenage years that make him weary of everyone.

62. How was their family life?
Could have been worse. His mother was originally American, but she moved to France and fell in love. When Nyx was seven, his father left them, and his mother moved the two back to America. Nyx can't remember much about his father, but feels that his mother is stronger than he could ever be, and he respects her more than anyone. He has a very good relationship with his mom.

63. Are they happy now? Why?
He's trying to find happiness. It's elusive.

64. Do you like them?
Of course! I love Nyx.

65. Would you get along with them if you met them in real life?
He's be distant, of course, but I like to think that he could learn to trust me.

Hard to say. I'm pretty unimposing and shy, so I don't think he'd feel too threatened by me.

He's very book-smart.

...Not very street-smart, so no.

Don't plan on killing him off, so no.

Oh, it's hard to say. Your charatcers are almost like your children, and it's difficult to pick. Aden will probably always win out as #1, though.

I don't dislike any of my characters-- I wouldn't have made them if I did.

I'd say that the VS characters are more developed. (Though the entire story has yet to unfold for you guys, it's all planned out, so...)

5) Which OC would you want to date if they magically came to life?

Oh, that's easy. All my fantasies came together to create Mae. I'd do anything to have a girl like her. I'm also quite fond of Snare and Velle, but neither are interested in women, so I'm screwed.

6) How many girl OCs do you have? Boy OCs? It OCs?

Well, of the characters listed above, there are only 3 girls and 9 boys, but I have many more female OCs that were not listed.

7) If you were stuck in a burning building what do you think the third OC on your list would do?

Light up a cigarette.

8) Name one thing you regret about one of your OCs.

I don't really regret anything; they're all the way I want them to be. I may later regret killing off 4 of the characters listed above.

9) Which of your OCs do you think would make the best father/mother/parent out of all your OCs and why?

Tristan might be able to raise a daughter, but his son would probably beat him up. Mae would have a good chance as well. Everyone else is too emotionally handicapped for children.

10) Which of your OCs do you think will most likely be put in jail?

Oh lord, where to start? Aden and Ichabod will eventually assault the wrong person at the wrong time, Snare is dealing with a crippling drug addiction that could get him busted, Sasha is involved in an extremely illegal line of work, and Velle and Bosie would have been locked up, but the circumstances were... twisted in their favor? Can't really explain that without giving too much away.

11) The eighth of your OCs was put into the future! What will their job be?!?

Depends on how far into the future, as well as when he is sent.

12) Name the first OCs catch phrase! (if they don’t have one just make one up)

Uh? Probably something like "FUCK YOU" or other strings of profanity.

13) Do all your OCs live together or are they separated?

Aden, Ichabod, Mae, and Snare all live in the dorms at Allmaston University. Ichabod and Mae originally share a dorm, but eventually Ichabod switches with Aden; Snare lives in a different building. Tristan and Sasha also live together in a flat uptown. You could say that Bailey and Simoun live together.

14) Are there any pairings that are in your OC list?

Several. Aden/Mae, Ichabod/Jakob, Tristan/Sasha, and Snare/Nyx, though they eventually go their seperate ways. Bosie has romantic feelings for Velle, but they are not returned.

15) Your seventh OC switched bodies with you for a day! How will they react at the end of the day?

Nyx would be really pissed that I ruined his vegetarian diet and touched his nipples. :3 He, however, would probably do a lot of good for my health, so points for that.

16) Your last OC just became a fifteen year old. What do they do?

Considering that Simoun is ageless, I can't really say that she would do anything differently.

17) Now randomly select a person on your OC list. Who was it?

Well, I haven't mentioned Bailey yet, so I guess I'll pick him.

18) That OC you just chose is on the roof, about to jump off.

It would probably be closer to falling off. Bailey is blind.

19) Are any of your OCs bored of this meme?

All of 'em.

20) Would your second OC prefer the beach or the mountains?

Mae would probably enjoy both. I'm leaning a little more towards the mountains, though, because she is very enamoured with the night sky.

21) Would your tenth OC battle a shark?

I don't think so. If he did, he'd lose. Bosie is a theatre geek, not an athlete.

22) Which OCs hate each other?

Well, the only character who recieves hate from any other character is August, but luckily he's not listed. Nyx originally dislikes Mae, but once he realizes that her kindness isn't just for show, he warms up to her. Ichabod also finds Sasha really annoying, but eventually becomes protective over him (even though he won't admit it).

23) Which OC did you create first? And last?

Aden was the first and Simoun was the last, hence their listing.

25) And if those two were fighting, who would win?

Aden is definitely tougher and could win in almost any fight, but considering that Simoun only exists in Bailey's mind, it would be impossible to fight her.

26) Are your OCs fat or skinny?

They're all pretty thin, Mae being the only one who is a little more rounded. She's certainly not fat, though.

27) What are your OC's favorite foods?

Aden loves just about anything. Mae prefers fruit, but has a bit of a sweet tooth. Ichabod eats too much barbeque. Jakob loves mint marshmellows. Sasha likes carnival food. Tristsan enjoys his coffee cake. Nyx is a strict vegetarian. Snare's taste buds are numbed from all the heroin intake. Velle is a huge fan of peanut brittle. Bosie prefers apple tart. Bailey is only fed bread and protein pills. Simoun does not eat.

Sleeping With Ghosts: Nyx will always be with Snare, even if his heart has finally expanded for August. After everything they've been though, Snare gave Nyx something he can never forget-- a first love. Sometimes, Nyx misses those sleepless nights. Set to Placebo's Sleeping With Ghosts.

Am I Happy?: A piece to accompany a scene from one of the later chapters in VS. Snare is losing himself, and dazedly asks Nyx on one of his rougher nights "Hey... am I happy?" Nyx knows the answer is already clear.

For The Nights I Can't Remember: Sometimes, I just need to draw Shiori being adorable. For the sake of my sanity. Based on the song by Hedley.

Azure Paler than the Sky: The bond between Juri and Shiori is a fragile one, and Ruka intends to shatter it forever. But is that really in Juri's best interest, or is that simply what Ruka wishes to be true? A piece to symbolize the Red Thread of Fate that binds Juri and Shiori, and how seemingly easy it is to sever it.
